Thealight drama group presents a new drama this year "Chuyare Chandan". This drama was written by saradindoo bandopadhay and the first play was directed by rakesh ghosh almost ten years ago.
The drama was played in Minarva Theatre in north kolkata on 12th December 2021. Based on the present situation of the society - elegious polarization, greed and alashes betwen people , some changes have been made to the original composition to make it fit with the modern life and this play is going to make a mark abd impact in the society.
The maion charecters of this drama were Nimai, Madhav and Champabati.
Renowned actors of the theatre fraternity who acted in this play are Rajiv Bardhan , Sandip chattopadhay and Ranjan Bose along with the members of the group- Sampa Das Sarkar , Sanku Kumar and Sukumar Das.
The group has faced a lot of challenges to launch the drama in this post pandemic covid19 situation. The main challenge was to attract the crowd towards the theatre again but the response was good as lot of people has turned on to minarva theatre this evening. The director Anup Sarkar is confident that people will like the show and loking forward to spread the play across the country.
The director has also thanked the honourable CMof West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee for the financial support to this type of organistions to keep the theatre culture of west bengal alive.
