Abhishek (34), nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, entered the new office of the central agency in central Delhi around 11am and left shortly before 8pm.
He was accompanied by his security personnel and legal team.
Officials said Banerjee's statement was recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and he was confronted with some 'evidences' gathered by the investigators.
His role and links with other accused in the case are being investigated, they said. Abhishek, told reporters while exiting the ED office that he was a 'law-abiding citizen and hence he has cooperated in the investigation'.
He alleged that probe agencies such as the ED, CBI and the income tax department were being used by the BJP to 'scare opposition and its political personalities.'
'If they think they will put agencies to scare me, to put me on the back foot, they are living in a fool's paradise,' he said.
The TMC leader added that his wife Rujira, summoned for questioning in this case on Tuesday, will 'not be coming' as she has to take care of their two-and-half-year-old kid.
She will send her reply to the investigating officer through email, he said, adding that the ED can question her in Kolkata and she is 'willing to do that'. The Diamond Harbour MP was earlier questioned in this case by the agency in September last year for about nine hours.
The latest ED summons against the two came after the Delhi High Court on March 11 dismissed a plea by the couple challenging the agency notices asking them to appear in the national capital instead of Kolkata.
Abhishek said he filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court on Monday challenging the ED summons to appear in Delhi.
Meanwhile, TMC state general secretary Kunal Ghosh said that if the ED summoned Abhishek Banerjee then leader of opposition in West Bengal assembly Suvendu Adhikari too should have been called for questioning in the Narada episode.
'He (Suvendu) is clearly seen in a video in the Narada case. He was even named in the FIR. He joined the BJP only to escape arrest. Abhishek has held his head high in front of the ED and he will answer all their questions,' he added.
People can see that leaders like Suvendu are not being called for questioning, he said, adding that repeated summoning of Abhishek was but political vendetta.
