Vijay's TVK Hits Magic Number: VCK and IUML Join Forces to Form Government in Tamil Nadu

Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam has successfully reached the magic number required to form the government in Tamil Nadu after receiving critical support from the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi and the Indian Union Muslim League. This major political development comes as the TVK emerged as the single-largest party but initially fell short of the 118-seat majority mark in the 234-member Assembly. By securing the backing of VCK, IUML, and other smaller allies, Vijay's coalition has now crossed the threshold with 121 seats, effectively clearing the path for the actor-turned-politician to become the next Chief Minister. This strategic alliance marks a historic shift in the state's political landscape, breaking the long-standing dominance of traditional parties and ending the post-election uncertainty that followed the defeat of the incumbent DMK government. With the numbers now secured, Vijay has moved to stake his claim at Raj Bhavan, setting the stage for a new coalition government to take office in Chennai.
