Bardhaman, West Bengal: A man accused of practising medicine without proper qualifications has been arrested in connection with the death of a child in Bardhaman. A court has remanded the accused, identified as Sayedul, to six days of police custody.
According to police sources, Sayedul’s ancestral home is in Alampur under Dewandighi Police Station in Bardhaman district. He was reportedly residing in an apartment near Golapbag More in Bardhaman town. Police alleged that the accused went into hiding following the child’s death. Investigators subsequently traced and arrested him in connection with the case. The police are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death and the accused’s alleged medical practice. Further details are expected to emerge during the investigation and questioning in police custody.
